|  2006: The Phoenix Rises, and the controversial mutant "cure" is introduced. Many mutants seeking acceptance in society or riddance of their mutant powers take it. Phoenix kills both Professor Charles Xavier and Scott Summers. In a final stand against the Phoenix, the X-Men defeat her and the Brotherhood, Magneto getting cured in the process. After this, Ororo Munroe, a.k.a Storm took over the Xavier Institute. 2008: Mutants who took the cure begin to experience a return in their powers, including Magneto, who reassumes his posistion of the leader of the Brotherhood. 2010: The Phoenix rises from the ashes, this time in control of her powers. She is welcomed back to the X-Men with open arms, though she is no longer their greatest threat. An ancient darkness is rising over the world, and the Apocolypse is at hand.... | |
