Warning Level : Favorite Turtle : I love Mikey the most for his childish humor (and kick butt fighting style with those chucks!) that makes me laugh evey time I see an eppie with him in it, no matter how many times I see that episode. YET...I have come to respect them all. Donnie for his strong intellect and ability to make a smart joke (which, most of the time, I get them!), Raph for his Tough Turtle attitude and soft side (OMGsh, so CUTE!!), and Leo for his leader personality and caring for his family (if only he didn't take the blame so much...). And who could forget Master Splinter, the rat that loves and trains and is funny in his "old man" way! Shells : 0 Registration date : 2010-04-13

| I blame it on the '87 series. Ever since that word was introduced to pop culture, I have heard it soooo many times outside of anything TMNT related. Name some instances here, a-like so:
Open Season: When Eliot was gonna join the other animals in beating up Shaw.
Back at the Barnyard: it's in the opening title, actually, but it was also an episode: Rat-abunga lol!
Mythbusters: they were doing a surfer myth, and during the scenes where they talk about the myth, Grant tried to talk surfer (Cowabunga...something else that made him sound like an idiot) but failed miserably.
Your turn! | |

| I was watching a surfer movie, and, you guessed it, surfers favorite word!
Oh, and even though she will never admit it, I swear I heard my mom say Cowabunga once! | |

| The word originated from the 1950s program Howdy Doody, believe it or not. It started as a borderline racist phrase for Native American-type character Chief Thunderthud to cry ("Kowabonga," as I recall). It became surfers' slang later (that being the 60s), due to many surfers having grown up on Howdy Doody's show and apparently being fond of the word. I'm not sure if all that is entirely true, but it's the "legend," as it were. | |

| Well, it could've been made even more famous than it was before. I hear it all the time. But that little history lesson told me something! | |
